Medical Women´s International Association (MWIA) supports the
request to end the campaign against physicians in Turkey

MWIA is deeply concerned that the Turkish Government dismissed leaders of the Turkish Medical Association (TMA) from public service and terminated family medicine contracts of TMA Council members. In addition, TMA leaders continue to be bullied and dismissed after issuing a statement describing war as a threat to public health with a special focus on Syria in January 2018.
MWIA fully endorses the request of the World Medical Association (WMA) and the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) to stop harassing TMA leaders, and to reinstate them to their previous positions. MWIA fully supports TMA´s struggle for upholding human rights and ending all forms of war-related violence.
